A private speech language pathology practice in Woodbridge, Virginia, providing services to children. Patricia Ramos Cole is certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
Since 1990, Pat has provided speech and language services to children in a variety of settings including: early intervention programs, schools and clinical settings in Northern Virginia.
Pat also provides speech services to children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and those with other disorders in which speech, language, and communication difficulties exist. She relies on an eclectic approach eliciting the best response from these children. Pat has extensive training in speech and language disorders specializing in the care of infants and children. Her credentials include additional training in the areas of dysarthria, dyspraxia, oral motor development, feeding, phonology and language. In addition to specializing within her field, she has continued her professional growth in the areas of: neuro development (NDT), applied behavioral analysis (ABA), verbal behavior (VB), auditory integration training (AIT), sensory integration (SI), and Interactive Metronome (IM). Pat is obtaining certification in Relationship Development Intervention(R) (RDI). Patients may also benefit from receiving services in Spanish.

Parents:
During therapy sessions with your child, Pat advises you so that you not only observe, but also take an active part in every therapy session. You can then take the information and techniques you learn and use them as you interact with your child in his or her environment. This enables Pat to accelerate therapy, and your child to improve more quickly. Pat teaches not only your child, she teaches YOU to teach your child! |

Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) is an advanced therapeutic approach practiced by experienced Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech - Language Pathologists.
This hands-on approach is used in working with people who have central nervous system insults that create difficulties in controlling movement. Therapists using NDT treatment have completed advanced training in NDT and work closely with individuals with neurological challenges (e.g. cerebral palsy, stroke, head injury), helping them to become as independent as possible. NDT-trained therapists work collaboratively with individuals, family, caregivers and physicians to develop comprehensive treatment programs based on the principles of human neurology and physiology. Individuals who have minimal to severe motor difficulties can benefit from the NDT approach.
